About 200 6 th grade-students of Escola Básica e Secundária de Aranguez, in Setúbal, received on March 11 training in Basic Life Support (BLS). The session was provided by a team from Hospital da Luz Setúbal, in the context of project “Towards a safer school – Together we will save lives”, with the purpose of developing health competencies and knowledge in children and youths of the region. Along the afternoon, students listened to the explanations on what to do in case of emergency and how to call 112 for help, besides training BLS techniques in manikins. Afterwards, the “Lu Game” took place (Lu being Hospital da Luz mascot), delighting the young ones: divided in teams, they moved forward in the game, as they answered questions about what they had just learnt. And everyone showed to have learned the lesson well! In the end, students received magnets with the information necessary to call 112 for help in an emergency. The Hospital da Luz team included nurses Marina Leal, Vanda Sousa, Milene Rosa and Jessica Oliveira, nurse Luís Diogo and cardio pneumology technicians Joana Patinha, Sónia Balão and Vânia Madeira.
