The Hospital da Luz Network continues to grow: in the first half of 2026, a new clinic in Aveiro will come into operation , including a complete examination center and consultations in multiple specialties, with a special highlight to the area of neurosciences. “It will be an exceptional structure considerably differentiating the medical offer in Aveiro”, declared Pedro Beja Afonso , the managing director of Luz Saúde in the central region, in an interview to Diário de Aveiro published this week. The new clinic will occupy the entire ground floor of a building in Rua General José Domingues Peres, near Aveiro train station. “It will be an outpatient unit with an imaging service, where there will be present specialties such as dentistry, neurology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, psychiatry, and psychology, among others”, explains Pedro Beja Afonso. This is “the most significant” project of Hospital da Luz in the region in 2026, but there are projects in progress. “We are going to implement a restructuring process of the offer at Hospital da Luz Aveiro and improve the conditions of accessibility and comfort for our clients”, states the manager, further adding that the three units of the group in the region (Hospital da Luz Aveiro, Hospital da Luz Oiã, and Clínica de Águeda) will undergo next year “a process of digital transformation”, at the level of information technologies and systems in order to place them “at the digital forefront”, with “a significant and rather positive impact on the relationship with clients”. The investment is continuous and englobes other areas: “Presently, Hospital da Luz Aveiro has a very complete and differentiated offer of exams. This year the hospital has invested in state-of-the-art CT equipment , crucial to the quality of cardiovascular exams, allowing us to recently start applying Angio-CT and other cardiac exams. Next year, the imaging offer will be enlarged with the setting up of another Tesla magnetic resonance equipment in Clínica da Ria”.
