In time of celebration of its 8 th anniversary, Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA) publishes a new edition of its magazine , Casos Clínicos (Clinical Cases). In this issue, are reported 41 clinical cases followed in this hospital, between 2018 and 2019, and selected among the most significant from the clinical point of view. “HBA stands out for the practice of an intensive assistance activity, inclusively in areas of great complexity, with high standards of quality and safety, high levels of efficiency, and for the practice of team medicine”, highlights in the editorial Rui Maio, the assistant clinical director and editor of the publication. This magazine is, therefore, not only “the natural result of the work developed on a daily basis”, but also the consequence of “the educational capacity” of the hospital. Thus, in this 6th edition of the magazine, are reported clinical cases that “translate the effective technical and scientific differentiation of the professionals involved, and the assistance quality of the team work in the institution where it takes place”. Rui Maio reminds, in this regard, some numbers of the HBA activity, between January 2012 and January 2020: Over 1.2 million clients received in consultation; Over 1.5 million patients received in the emergency services; Over 100 thousand surgeries; About 20 thousand deliveries; 97,200 sessions in day hospital. “This intensive assistance activity and the concern of fulfilling the contract scrupulously have never stopped us from investing in pre and postgraduate education, and in scientific research, since we are deeply convinced that the best hospitals are those that, besides the assistance activity, are engaged in education, training and research”, further adds Rui Maio, concluding: “This was also a winning bet.” Leia a revista Casos Clínicos Hospital Beatriz Ângelo 2018-2019
