Clube Desportivo da Póvoa wins the Hospital da Luz Trophy in basketball , a tournament promoted every year by Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim marking the start of the new season for the first league in basketball. This was the 6 th edition, happening from 11 to 13 September, played with two other teams of great tradition, Ovarense and CP Esgueira. Over the three days of the competition, at Fernando Linhares de Castro Sports Pavilion, fans had the opportunity to watch matches of high intensity and quality in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm, conviviality and sportsmanship, with the joyful contribution of Lu, Hospital da Luz mascot, who has animated the event and delighted the young ones. In the finale, the home team defeated Ovarense by 95-64 and received the trophy from the hands of Sérgio Viana, Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim managing director.
