INGLÊS Hospital da Luz Coimbra provided, on February 1, the first workshop on colorectal cancer hepatic metastases . With the purpose of improving diagnostic and therapeutic accuracy in this significant pathology, the event gathered radiologists, surgeons, gastroenterologists and oncologists from all over the country, that shared their experiences. Organized by the clinical direction of the hospital – Filipe Caseiro Alves (above, in the photo), José Manuel Nascimento Costa and José Carlos Campos –, the workshop included lectures on topics such as the diagnostic evaluation of hepatic metastases, precision surgery in the treatment of colorectal cancer metastases and the therapeutic decision in multidisciplinary context. The session was concluded with the discussion of clinical cases, in a multidisciplinary approach. “We all work every day for this to be a hospital that practices team medicine, highly differentiated, in a multidisciplinary approach, and focused on the patient, providing the most advanced technology to doctors”, highlighted Pedro Beja Afonso , Hospital da Luz Coimbra managing director, in the event opening session. “Hospital da Luz Coimbra should be able to share and develop knowledge, and bring together the best professionals, always with the goal of practicing good medicine”, he added.
