Samples are collected in drive thru mode, available by car or on foot, upon previous scheduling, so as to avoid unnecessary queues and delays. The antigen tests carried out at Hospital da Luz Oeiras: Have similar principles to rapid tests currently performed in pharmacies and self-tests, but they are carried out in laboratory using the sample collected by nasal and/or oral swab, just like PCR tests; Allow to obtain results in a shorter time limit than PCR (in 2-4 hours, instead of 24 hours); Have a validity period of 48 hours (instead of 72 hours for PCR tests); Do not require medical prescription; Are valid for the purposes of certification to be provided in the situations legally requiring it; Costs are not co-participated by the National Health Service; In the case of health insurances, the cost may be subsequently reimbursed, depending on the established plan (it is recommended to previously consult the insurance company for that purpose).
