It is the mission of these professionals to provide “an individualized treatment, adjusted to the needs and expectations of the patient and respective family, from the diagnosis and all along these chronic diseases, offering a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach that is effective in controlling symptoms and improving the quality of life of patients and families”, explains Ana Morgadinho the coordinator of the area. Besides this neurologist, the team integrates physicians Diogo Carneiro (neurology), Joana Santos Costa (physical medicine and rehabilitation), Mónica Pinto (psychology), Miguel Bajouco (psychiatry), and Paula Lapa (nuclear medicine). The group also develops “ Conversas em movimento ” (Conversations in motion), a special project for people with Parkinson, and respective family, friends, and caretakers, to share information, experiences, and support.
