Eduardo Carpinteiro and André Barros in EFORTEduardo Carpinteiro, coordinator of the Shoulder and Elbow Group from Hospital da Luz Lisboa, and André Barros, orthopaedist integrating the same team, were guest speakers in EFORT congress, the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, which took place in Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, between 5 and 7 June. André Barros intervened as a guest at the SECEC (European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery) session on news surgical techniques in the treatment of shoulder instability. Eduardo Carpinteiro presented a study on an innovating surgical technique of superior capsule reconstruction of the shoulder with a xenograft. This was the 20th edition of the annual congress of EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology), the largest and most important European meeting of the specialty, usually counting with participants from all over the world. Established in 1991 to promote education and research in the area of orthopaedics and traumatology, EFORT gathers currently 41 scientific associations from 39 countries.
