This initiative is part of World COPD Day (this year, it is celebrated on November 20), which is one of the main causes of decreased quality of life and mortality worldwide. COPD is a common disease that can be prevented and can be treated. Tobacco (main risk factor), pollution and exposure to gases, dust or polluting chemicals in the context of professional activity are the main causes of the disease. If symptoms such as coughing with sputum and dyspnea (tiredness) are present, patients over 40 years of age, smokers or exposed to smoke or dust that affect the respiratory system should consult a pulmonologist for COPD screening.
