It was among a lot of emotion, joy, good memories, and great expectations for the future that 25 years of Hospital da Luz Clínica do Porto were celebrated, on November 27. A celebration to which every collaborator of the clinic was invited and where the enterprising spirit of the team of this Luz Saúde unit was acknowledged. Cláudia Cardoso was one of the honourees in the ceremony, in the words of the unit’s executive director and in the memories of everyone present. Clearly moved, Manuel Krug Noronha recalled the arrival of the young manager in the clinic and her commitment to make the unit what it is today. Despite not being able to fulfil the dream of witnessing the conclusion of Hospital da Luz Clínica do Porto refurbishment, said the managing director, Cláudia remains present and the memory of her dedication drives this team to “always aim at doing better and going further” . And he thanked, forgetting no one, every professional group that integrates Clínica do Porto. The Luz Saúde CEO, Isabel Vaz, also talked about Cláudia as “someone who will always be present”. And she thanked António Lima Cardoso, the former executive director of Hospital da Luz units in the North and main responsible for the growth of the Group in the region. His vision, the awareness of what hospital management entails, and his commitment to the success of Luz Saúde were equally essential “for us to be able to get where we are today”, referred Isabel Vaz in the ceremony. The event, taking place at Indulgent, in Oporto, counted with over 140 guests, all of them collaborators of Hospital da Luz Clínica do Porto and members of Luz Saúde Executive Commission, besides the executive director of Hospital da Luz Arrábida, Manuel Krug Noronha, and the directors of the several units of the Network in the North. Clínica do Porto opened doors in 2000, then was acquired in 2006 by Luz Saúde (at the time Espírito Santo Saúde) and has been gradually adapted to the strategic needs of the Group. During the pandemic, it was forced to close doors but after that period it resumed the provision of ambulatory healthcare, today being a true next-generation health centre, with an offer of consultations and exams in multiple specialities, clinical analyses, and easy proximal access. The 25th anniversary of Hospital da Luz Clínica do Porto was the moment chosen to pay tribute to a few older collaborators of this unit. Doctors Carlos Minnemann Baptista , Noémia Fernandes and Rui Alves Coelho and manager Nuno Macedo Silva received an award symbolizing the Group’s appreciation for their dedication, determination, and entreprising and team spirit that they have always shown throughout their professional life at Clínica do Porto. “In here they will definitely continue to shine”, highlighted Isabel Vaz in the end, expressing her gratitude to all the professionals of the clinic.
