Hospital da Luz Coimbra is the official Padel sponsor of the Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC), for the 2024 and 2025 sports seasons. The agreement has just been signed between the director of Hospital da Luz Coimbra, Pedro Beja Afonso, and the president from the direction of the AAC Padel Section, Hugo Solinho Silva. The AAC Padel Section was created in 2020 and already has around 70 athletes. The ease of learning this modality and the fact that it can be played indoors or outdoors, by women and men of all ages, explain the great success that padel has enjoyed nationally in recent years. The partnership between the two institutions reinforces HLC's intervention in the community and the promotion of sport and physical exercise.
