Teams from Hospital da Luz Setúbal have organized different activities with 7 th and 12 th grade students of Escola Básica e Secundária Lima de Freitas and 4 th grade students of Colégio Andrade Corvo, in the context of project “Health at School”. This is the third year of the project viewing to develop the health competencies of children and youths in the district. The project “Health at School” is based on the criteria defined in the national program of Health Education Promotion (PES) in schools, and it was designed by Hospital da Luz Setúbal following requests from schools for information sessions on health themes adapted to the different age groups and education levels. In the context of our commitment of support to the community, we have accepted the challenge. Learn to save lives and identify addictive behaviour Within Lima de Freitas school group, about sixty 12 th grade students had the opportunity to learn how to aid people in difficulty or even in sudden cardiorespiratory arrest and train Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques in manikins . At the end of the session, which took place on March 3, they have put the knowledge acquired to the test through a much-contested game. The Hospital da Luz Setúbal team included nurses Milene Diogo, Elsa Rodrigues, Andreia Pereira, Ana Ferreira, and Ana Mafalda Meneses. As for the 7 th grade students from the same school group, they were challenged to talk about “Addictive behaviour – with or without substance”, in a session held on March 10 . By means of theoretical presentations and dynamic games, the students were questioned on the risks and consequences of addictive behaviour, namely the abuse of substances such as alcohol, energy drinks, and tobacco, and the excessive use of electronic games. On this occasion, the Hospital da Luz team comprised family and general physician Joana Gonçalves and nurses Milene Diogo, Ana Ferreira, Ana Luísa Freitas, and Beatriz Galhardas. The host of both sessions in this school group was teacher Celeste Aldeias, the pedagogical coordinator, whose support Hospital da Luz appreciates. Healthy lifestyles and diet Colégio Andrade Corvo, a new partner in project “Health at School”, has received on March 24 a Hospital da Luz team that approached the 4 th grade students on “Healthy lifestyles and diet” . Divided into groups, the students have participated in games with questions on diet, sleep, oral health, and physical exercise. At the end of each topic, the group answering correctly to most questions and challenges received a piece of a puzzle. Lu, Hospital da Luz mascot, cheered an afternoon packed with learning on health, always combined with fun. On this occasion, the Hospital da Luz team included nutritionist Ana Carolina Soares and nurses Milene Diogo, Marta Santana, Mariana Silva, Ana Ferreira, Ana Freitas, Beatriz Galhardas, and Sandra Rolo.
