The telephone contacting of deaf clients with hospitals and clinics of Hospital da Luz network may now be done through the free video interpretation service, in the Deaf Citizen Portal, ensured by Serviin (video interpretation service) . The connection is activated through the Serviin app and intermediated by an interpreter, who communicates with the deaf client by video in Portuguese sign language and by voice with the Hospital da Luz assistance service. The partnership with Serviin allows, therefore, all units of Hospital da Luz network to be available to the deaf community. In this context, Hospital da Luz ensures a priority direct phone line to Serviin. The video interpretation service in Portuguese sign language is free of cost and operates Monday through Friday (including holidays), from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. For Hospital da Luz, this is an important step towards eliminating obstacles in communication.
