Along one year of activity, Hospital da Luz Clínica de Santa Maria da Feira already performed around 15 thousand consultations and over 15 thousand exams, employing over a hundred people , with highlight for a clinical staff of 86 professionals, among physicians, nurses and health technicians. The result of an investment of approximately 7 million euros in a region that attracts more and more people and businesses, this clinic is one of the latest bets of Luz Saúde Group in proximity health, and it was officially inaugurated this week, in a ceremony presided by Santa Maria da Feira city council president, Emídio Sousa. “It will be successful. You are implanted in a council that is the head of an extremely dynamic region, with around 340 thousand inhabitants and over 16 thousand businesses. So, welcome! And above all, provide us with a good service. If you do, you will be guaranteed a faithful clientele”, acknowledged the mayor. In his speech, Emídio Sousa stressed that “public health is ensured with state and private services” and that “what citizens look for is the best health service at the best price”. “I am extremely pleased to count with this excellent service in Santa Maria da Feira”, he added, reminding that the council is no longer “a dormitory” of the city of Oporto, having reached, in 10 years, a situation of full employment, with the population requiring quality and specialized services, such as those provided by Hospital da Luz network. The proximity strategy is to be continued “The opening of another clinic reinforces our presence in the North, where our group started its activity, 23 years ago”, reminded, on its turn, Tomás Branquinho da Fonseca, the executive director of Luz Saúde. “This investment – besides contributing for the economic development and the creation of employment – reflects our commitment to ensure a capillarity of Hospital da Luz network that would provide high quality healthcare, specialization and complexity to an increasingly wider range of the population ”, he highlighted. “Luz Saúde will continue to widen its network of units to the whole national territory”, he announced. The importance of this “increasingly higher proximity to the populations” and “the value that this healthcare represents” for them were also aspects emphasized in the ceremony by António Noronha, administrator of Fidelidade, a shareholder of Luz Saúde and also partner while insurer. Manuel Krug Noronha, the executive director of the clinic, gave a brief account of the history of this Luz Saúde project: which started in 2017, with the search of a location to set up the clinic, the works beginning in 2021 and its activity opening in the 8 th March 2022. It includes 16 consultation rooms, 10 examination rooms for different medical specialties and an imaging unit equipped with the latest technology. The executive director further expressed his gratitude to all entities that have contributed to the viability of the project and gave a special compliment to the teams that work here on a daily basis. Hospital da Luz Clínica de Santa Maria da Feira provides a wide ambulatory clinical offer, at the level of diagnosis and treatment, with consultations and medical exams in different specialities, a complete imaging centre and clinical analyses. It operates in close collaboration with Hospital da Luz Arrábida, the most differentiated unit of Hospital da Luz network in the North region, thus enabling the Santa Maria da Feira population to access, whenever necessary, to all the medical-surgical specialities and more specialized equipment. Also present in the ceremony were the vice-president and the responsible for health in Santa Maria da Feira municipality, Amadeu Albergaria and Vítor Marques, respectively, besides several presidents of parish councils in the district, and the executive director of ACES Feira Vouga, António Marques, among other individualities.
