Hospital da Luz Clínica da Amadora sponsored the Forum for Health at School, an initiative of the Local Unit of Health Amadora/Sintra (ULSAS), that took place on October 22, at Recreios da Amadora auditorium. “Unite today to transform tomorrow” was the motto of the gathering, where representatives from different institutions discussed themes related with children and youth welfare, searching for “new solutions in health promotion” within the schools of Amadora. The Forum included thematic sessions where the present challenges in school health were approached – namely mental health, environmental health, oral health, and nursing care – and a round table on possible synergies with local entities, such as Santa Casa da Misericórdia, schools, PSP, health associations, and private sector partners. The discussion panels on the future of school health counted with the participation of specialists in paediatrics and child psychiatry, among others. There was also space for musical moments performed by students of the school group and the Amadora Music Conservatory. The support of Hospital da Luz Clínica da Amadora to this event reinforces its commitment with projects of social impact and its bet on innovative partnerships aiming to enhance the quality of life for children and youths of the district.
