Hospital da Luz has supported the first edition of Póvoa Volley Cup , a women’s volleyball tournament destined to the U-14 and U-16 categories that took place between 8 and 13 July, with the participation of 280 athletes from 23 clubs all over the country and organized by Clube Desportivo da Póvoa (CDP). As official medical partner, Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim followed up the whole competition, ensuring medical support to athletes, technical teams, and other participants, thus contributing to the safety and tranquillity of the event. Beyond the competition, the Póvoa Volley Cup has included different entertainment activities and moments of conviviality for athletes and families, making this event a distinctive moment in the national calendar of the modality in the youth ranks . The closing session has counted with the presence of the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, and the president of Póvoa de Varzim municipality, Andrea Silva, in a moment reinforcing the importance of investing in sports education and training and in the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim thanks CDP for the opportunity to participate in this initiative and congratulates all athletes, trainers and participating clubs for their commitment, sportsmanship, and dedication demonstrated throughout the competition.
