Hospital da Luz Vila Real is one of the institutions supporting the Morgado de Mateus School Group with the new course of Healthcare Assistant. This training was created in the context of program “Ser Pro” (Be a Pro) of Iniciativa Educação (Education Initiative), and will be carried out on educational level 4 (secondary education), contributing for the local, regional and national effort of education and effective qualification of young people. The signature of the protocol with all the entities involved took place during a ceremony held last October 12. Were present Ricardo Montes (director of Morgado de Mateus School Group), Nuno Crato (president of Iniciativa Educação), José Paulo Cravino (pro-rector of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro University), Alexandre Favaios (vice-president and councilor of Education in Vila Real City Council), Pedro Linhares, director-general of Hospital da Luz Vila Real, and representatives from other partner institutions, namely Centro Hospitalar de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, and the Humanitarian Association of Vila Real Volunteer Firefighters. Along the cycle of studies of the new course, between 2023 and 2026, Hospital da Luz Vila Real will provide thematic trainings and internships in working environment, in accordance with the planning defined by the school group. To enhance the training of young people who opt for professional education is one of the goals of the program “Ser Pro”, joined by Morgado de Mateus School Group. Established in 2012, this school group integrates nine schools, representing 32% of Vila Real network of education and teaching equipment, and being responsible for the scholarization of 46% of the school population, from pre-school to secondary education.
