The Hospital da Luz ‐ Centro Clínico da Amadora is to provide the medical back up for runners in the 40th Amadora São Silvestre Event, a run taking place on 31 December at 10.00 in Amadora. The run, one of the most traditional and highly regarded national events, is organized by the Desportivo Operário do Rangel and is sponsored by the Amadora Municipal Authority. Top Portuguese athletes will be taking part in the run which sets off from Rua Elias Garcia and covers 10,000 metros to the finish line on Rua Manuel Ribeiro Pavia. The Hospital da Luz - Centro Clínico da Amadora will have an on-site medical post for the runners staffed by a doctor and nurses. Equipment on hand includes an automated external defibrillator and monitor to evaluate vital signs with electrocardiogram function.
