Hospital da Luz Coimbra celebrated a protocol with Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra (IPC), establishing a partnership between the two institutions for the development of initiatives in the areas of education, training, research and service providing. The protocol was signed on February 19 by Pedro Beja Afonso, the hospital’s administrator, and Jorge Conde, president of the polytechnic institute. “Hospital da Luz Coimbra assumes now its component of professional and pedagogic education, as an institution of reference in medicine, at the level of equipment and at the level of human resources”, states Pedro Beja Afonso. The purpose is to potentiate synergies in projects developed by lecturers and researchers of the hospital and the IPC, he adds, creating “general conditions of cooperation in the scope of curricular and applied research internships for polytechnic students”. The protocol also considers the possibility of curricular internship for IPC students and/or their collaboration in the orientation of studies or academic papers, as well as the joint organization of courses, seminars or conferences.
