Hospital da Luz Lisboa obtained the maximum rating of clinical excellence in seven of the nine areas evaluated by the Portuguese Healthcare Regulation Authority (ERS), in the scope of Sinas program (National System of Evaluation in Healthcare). The maximum rating (three stars) is granted when the results are higher than the average obtained by all healthcare providers. Hospital da Luz Lisboa obtained this rating in the following areas : General surgery (colon surgery); Vascular surgery (arterial revascularization surgery); Intensive care (Intensive Care Units); Gynaecology (hysterectomies); Neurology (stroke); Orthopaedics – total hip and knee arthroplasty; Orthopaedics – surgical treatment of proximal femoral fracture. This was the second evaluation by the ERS in 2019 , which focused on hospitalization episodes with discharge in the period between the 1 st July 2017 and the 30 th June 2018 . There were another two clinical areas, where Hospital da Luz Lisboa obtained high rating (two stars, corresponding to results superior to the average in terms of clinical excellence): Cardiology (myocardial acute infarction); Cardiac surgery (valvular surgery and other non-coronary cardiac surgeries). The hospital also obtained the maximum rating (three stars) in non-clinical categories , such as patient safety, adequacy and comfort of facilities, and healthcare focalization in the patient. Maximum ratings for the ninth consecutive year This was the ninth consecutive year that Hospital da Luz Lisboa was evaluated by the ERS , in the scope of Sinas program. Also in previous years, the hospital obtained the maximum rating of clinical excellence in some of its most important areas of healthcare providing. These results confirm Hospital da Luz Lisboa’s strong investment in quality medicine and reinforce the value of the major private hospital from Grupo Luz Saúde, as healthcare provider of reference.
