Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã is now official sponsor of Sporting Clube da Covilhã . The agreement recently celebrated between the two institutions foresees the use of medical services by the team’s senior football team. Established in 1923 June 2, the so-called “Leões da Serra” (Mountain Lions) have risen up to the Second League in the 2007/2008 season (taking the second place in the league table), maintaining the position until today. Presently, the Football Academy of Sporting Clube da Covilhã has about 200 athletes, between 4 and 18 years old, from Initiates to Juniors. “It is with great satisfaction that we support Sporting Clube da Covilhã, an historical club with a remarkable journey. Through this partnership, we aim to give athletes access to a diversified and highly specialized offer of services and health professionals from Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã”, explains the administrator of this unit, Pedro Beja Afonso (on the left, in the upper photo). “Our purpose is to support the young teams and promote the practice of sport in all safety. Being a new clinic, with modern and open spaces, Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã counts with the latest complementary means of diagnosis, offers a diversified range of consultations and specialty exams, and has a clinical team of recognized quality”, he adds. “It is with great pleasure that we establish this partnership with Hospital da Luz. The bet on our club will surely be honoured and we are quite thankful for it. Hospital da Luz Clínica da Covilhã opened to the public in March this year, located in the main avenue of this city (near Serra Shopping). It offers, in one place, professional excellence, convenient operating hours, and the latest technology, thus trying to meet the health needs of the local population and establishing itself as an ambulatory centre of reference in the region. The Clinic works in collaboration with Hospital da Luz Coimbra , so as to ensure the continuity of medical-surgical care at hospital level and an efficient response to the most diverse clinical situations.
