The project Intelligent Health Platform by the consortium formed by Hospital da Luz Learning Health – Luz Saúde company developing education, research and innovation activities – and Hospital da Luz Lisboa, is one of the 30 selected to integrate the Test Bed National Network. The Intelligent Health Platform takes on the commitment to carry out, along three years, 50 pilot tests of innovating products by startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the area of Health. Coordinated by the Digital Portugal Mission Structure and financed by RRP (recovery and resilience plan), the National Network of Test Beds has for goal to provide national SMEs and startups with the necessary conditions to test new products and services (for the moment, around 2,400 are planned, until September 2025), enabling to shorten the cycle of development / innovation. The official presentation session of the National Network and the 30 projects that already integrate it happened on the 31 st March, at Aveiro University, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Prime-Minister, António Costa. The Intelligent Health Platform (IHP) of Hospital da Luz has for mission to accelerate the creation of evidence with impact on the health system. This goal is to be implemented through the support of development and the testing of disruptive solutions, capable of responding to the new challenges and paradigms in the health sector. It will rely on a three-pillar structure: In silico trials / digital twin (digital infrastructure – a unified anonymized database, curated and organized according to international standards, viewing to trial and test solutions supported by Artificial Intelligence models); Simulation trials (to be carried out at the simulation centre of HL Learning Health); Real life trials (to be carried out at Hospital da Luz Lisboa).
