Manuel Figueiroa , plastic surgeon at Hospital da Luz Funchal, was distinguished with the Autonomous Insignia of Good Service, in the scope of the celebrations of the Day of Madeira Region and Communities, that took place in Funchal on July 1. The physician was one of the founders of Hospital Central do Funchal – namely of the service of plastic surgery in 1989 – and he is connected to Clínica de Santa Catarina, current Hospital da Luz Funchal (since 2017, after its acquisition by Grupo Luz Saúde). Conferred by the Regional Government of Madeira within the ceremonies of July 1, these commendations intend to honour “those who made a contribution to Madeira region and its population”. Manuel Figueiroa was one in ten personalities distinguished this year.
