Luz Saúde opened a new service center in the city of Coimbra , which will provide support to the central department of Administrative and Financial Services (DSAF). Installed at the Coimbra Stadium, this decentralized hub of DSAF da Luz Saúde will have 90 jobs and will provide services to all health units and companies of the Group, in the areas of accounting, treasury, billing and management control. On January 26th, at the inauguration ceremony of this new space, Ana Andrade, central director of DASF, explained that “faced with the challenge of extending the provision of these services to other units and to overcome the difficulties of increasing facilities and recruitment in the Lisbon region (where Luz Saúde’s headquarters are located), it was decided to look for a new space in another part of the country”. “When choosing the location in Coimbra, the centrality of the city was important, being a university hub that we believe will allow access to high-value Human Resources and finding a space that meets the desired conditions”, she added. José Manuel Silva, president of the Coimbra municipality, who was also present at this ceremony, made a point of highlighting that “having this central service of the Group here in the city is an honor, a vote of confidence for Luz Saúde and an extraordinarily important investment for our city. And it is also a recognition of the work – which I salute – carried out by all Luz Saúde employees here in Coimbra”. Isabel Vaz, the CEO of Luz Saúde, highlighted the fact that the Group is increasingly present in the city, getting involved and supporting “the development of Coimbra, in line with the strategy of the municipality itself”. And she recalled: “The Luz Saúde group currently has around 2.5 million active customers. In other words, more than 20% of the Portuguese population has already passed through Luz Saúde group units and, therefore, through services in the financial area,” she said. “It is a great responsibility, also because this is a service of systemic importance for the Group”. Finally, the executive administrator of Hospital da Luz Coimbra, Pedro Beja Afonso, stated: “It is with great satisfaction, as a Coimbra native, that I see a company with the size and notoriety of Luz Saúde installing administrative services in Coimbra. It's good to feel that Coimbra has this attractiveness. It’s good for the city, it’s good for young people, it’s good for our future.” The inauguration ceremony was attended by the main managers of Luz Saúde and Hospital da Luz, as well as several individuals from local and regional institutions. “In this university hub, in this city of knowledge, this is our humble contribution to the development of new technologies, of different people. This area of financial services is undergoing major digital transformations, using artificial intelligence. It is, in fact, another bet we are making in this region”, said Isabel Vaz. “The Luz Saúde group currently has around 2.5 million active customers . In other words, more than 20% of the Portuguese population has already passed through Luz Saúde group units and, therefore, through financial services. It is a great responsibility: this is a service of systemic importance for the Group”. “Coimbra has everything it takes to be the municipality with the most dynamic development in our country, for the same reasons that led Luz Saúde to centralize its highly sophisticated financial services here, which naturally provide more jobs for our young people, our talents, who are trained in Coimbra, in our various schools. More than eight thousand graduates a year graduate in Coimbra: not all of them will be talented, but I have no doubt that they are all excellently trained. Everyone can and should have the opportunity to develop their life in Coimbra. This opportunity only arises with private, business, industrial investment, so that they can develop their lives. Today is, therefore, a day of great happiness for us”, highlighted José Manuel Silva . “This beautiful space is prepared to receive up to 90 people, and today the teams that provide services for Hospital da Luz Coimbra and also some tasks for Hospital da Luz Lisboa are already working”, explained Ana Andrade. “Luz Saúde, which has only been in Coimbra since 2018, looked at Hospital da Luz Coimbra, its work models, its professionals, and believed (and trusted) that it could deconcentrate activity”. This initiative is undoubtedly a recognition of the merit of the administrative teams at Hospital da Luz Coimbra and now also at Hospital da Luz Aveiro, who move to this Service Center”, stated Pedro Beja Afonso , executive administrator of Hospital da Luz in the Central region.
