As of September, Clipóvoa – Private Hospital will be providing medical care for more vulnerable patients through the opening of a new service: the Accompaniment, Support and Palliative Care Unit. Experienced and specially trained staff are now available to accompany patients and support the family throughout all stages of an illness, particularly more serious illnesses. The multi-disciplinary team consists of doctors, nurses, social workers, a nutritionist, a psychologist, rehabilitation and occupational therapy professionals and a spiritual assistant, who together provide evaluation and guidance in symptom control and psychco-social support.
