Prof. Nuno Cardim, cardiologist at the Hospital da Luz, is editor of the newly published book, Echocardiography - The State of the Art. The book describes various techniques in echocardiography, exemplified by images that demonstrate their applications. The preface of the book is written by Miguel Angel Garcia Fernandez, Professor of Medicine at University Complutense of Madrid, where he suggests the book be made part of basic training for cardiologists and imaging specialists interested in the application of these diagnostic techniques, from the most common, present in any echocardiography laboratory to the most sophisticated and technologically advanced. Professor Fernandez concluded the preface by stating that the book is excellent work, original and unique among existing international scientific literature: there is no other book that includes all the techniques of echocardiography in one monograph.
