A good start of the new year in Póvoa de Varzim happens with the race Corrida dos Reis and with the support of Hospital da Luz – a tradition that was fulfilled in the late afternoon of January 6, with the 6 th edition of the running event counting with 1,600 participants. The event marks the conclusion of the Christmas festivities and the track included, once again, the main neighbourhoods and streets in the heart of the city. The nursing and physiotherapy team from Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim provided assistance whenever necessary, merely registering mild muscle strains. Miguel Ribeiro, of Sport Comércio e Salgueiros, and Laura Silva, of Clube Desportivo S. Salvador do Campo, were the winners in the men’s and women’s race, respectively. Hospital da Luz thanks the Póvoa de Varzim municipality and the organization – Bikeservice – for the invitation to take part in this initiative, which repeated the success of previous editions. The running event Corrida dos Reis represents an important way to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles, therefore, whenever the community so requires, Hospital da Luz is there! The Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim clinical team present in this edition of the event included nurse José Pedro Gonçalves and physiotherapists Guilherme Fontes and Vivian Afonso (all of them in the photo above).
