Pregnant women accompanying persons can now take the COVID-19 test, together with them, at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA), at the time of admission for birth. The pregnant women take a PCR test, while the accompanying persons take an antigen test – also known as rapid test – at the expense of the hospital. If the test is negative, the accompanying persons will be permitted to enter and stay in the Labour and Delivery Unit with the pregnant women, until the birth of the baby. After delivery, a visitor will be allowed in the ward of Obstetrics Internment until hospital discharge (36 to 48 hours after birth). The accompanying persons presenting such COVID-19 tests with a negative result, attesting the cure after being infected in the last 20 to 90 days, will not be required to take another test on admission.
