Protechting, the largest innovation program in the area of health and insurance, promoted by Fidelidade, launches its 8 th edition with the mission to revolutionize the future of health and insurance, under the motto “Innovation Without Borders”. Besides Luz Saúde and Fosun Foundation, the program counts this time with a new partner, La Positiva, the Group’s insurer in Peru, further extending its global outreach. Acknowledged as one of the major innovation programs in Portugal with higher impact and benefits for the participants, Protechting has for goal to identify and support startups, accelerating the implementation of technological solutions in the area of health, insurance, and sustainability. In previous editions, it took several startups to international markets, including the latest roadshow in China, enabling startups LoopOS, OWLplaces, Granter, and SleepUp to establish contacts with giants such as Alibaba and Lenovo, with incubators and other partners in Macau, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, exploring new opportunities in those markets. “The 8 th edition of Protechting is very much focused on creating impact for corporate partners, but also for startups, offering a structured path of innovation that enables them to test promising solutions and solve real challenges of the organizations”, states Daniel Ricardo, Head of the Centre for Transformation of Fidelidade. “With the inclusion of La Positiva, we take a decisive step towards the reinforcement of international partnerships, the overcoming of global challenges and scaling solutions”, he adds. The startups selected for Protechting 8.0 will benefit from a platform of growth and excellence validation, including: Direct connection with management and business teams (introduction to the right teams for collaboration in the pilot design, maximizing the chances of product integration and solution scalability). Financing of the pilot completion (grant to sponsor tests and validate solutions in real contexts with concrete business challenges of Fidelidade and its partners). International platform (they could be based anywhere in the world and use the program as a platform to access different markets, in Europe, Asia or Latin America). Access to specialized training (sessions to support startups designing their pilots, as well as access to an exclusive group of mentors). Protechting 8.0 reinforces the commitment of Fidelidade group to promote open and collaborative innovation. Throughout the previous editions, the program received over a thousand applications and successfully conducted over 50 pilots, establishing itself as a key reference towards the acceleration of promising solutions.
