Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim ensured once again clinical assistance during the EMRC SpringFest, that took place last May 14, at Parque da Cidade, in Póvoa . This was the 5 th edition of the event annually promoted by the Braga Archdiocese, having gathered around 11,920 participants, among third-grade students and teachers from 82 schools, to celebrate the discipline of Moral and Religious Catholic Education (EMRC). To ensure medical response in the precinct, the hospital has set up a clinical centre equipped to attend situations of emergency, including basic life support. The team posted on-site included one coordinator, one doctor, one nurse and six emergency medical technicians, ensuring permanent monitoring throughout the whole event. The operation also counted with the support of Póvoa de Varzim Volunteer Firefighters and Civil Protection agents, who have reinforced the security and assistance system set up in the precinct. Along the event, 58 clinical occurrences have been registered and four hospital evacuations performed, numbers that demonstrate the efficacy of response and good articulation between the teams involved. The EMRC Spring Fest included as always multiple activities, some of reflection and spiritual development, some other around sports and culture. Who also did not stop for a minute adding to the fun was Lu, the Hospital da Luz mascot. Hospital da Luz thanks the Braga Archdiocese and Póvoa de Varzim Municipality, organization partner, for the opportunity to participate in the major event that is the EMRC SpringFest. This way, not only the sense of citizenship is promoted, but also health and welfare.
