Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim participated in the 36 th São Pedro Run as the Official Medical Partner of this major sporting event. Ensuring the safety of approximately 2,700 athletes, with 10 incidents recorded and no hospital evacuations required, the hospital once again reinforced its position as a regional reference in healthcare support. Throughout the event, the Hospital da Luz team was on site to provide medical assistance and help ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, highlighting the importance of promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and community engagement. According to the official medical assistance report, the operation involved 12 emergency response personnel, with 10 incidents recorded during the event. Of the participants who required assistance, nine were treated at the medical station and one was treated at the scene. The operation’s final assessment also showed that no evacuation to Hospital da Luz was necessary. There were no self-transport cases and no refusals of medical assistance, demonstrating both the effectiveness of the medical support structure and the low severity of the incidents recorded. The presence of LU, the Hospital da Luz mascot, brought an extra sense of fun and engagement to the event, creating memorable moments for athletes, families, and participants alike. A special thank you to Mr. Manuel Zeferino and the Bikeservice organization for their trust in Hospital da Luz and for their outstanding work in delivering yet another successful edition of the São Pedro Run.
