Hospital da Luz Guimarães holds, on November 14, a free workshop , exclusive for professionals working in the field of aesthetics and beauty , on the theme “Demystifying Aesthetic Surgery: what is best done, when and how”. In today’s world, our image is becoming increasingly important – and, in the case of patients , a more or less obvious aesthetic deformity, with or without functional repercussion, can even be a problem with enormous psychological impact, causing suffering, which isn’t always understood in the light of common sense. Plastic surgery stands out by its versatility and ingenuity. But in fact, aesthetic surgery and reconstructive surgery are two sides of the same coin: aesthetic intervention cannot be faced without solid knowledge of reconstructive surgery. For that reason, aesthetic surgery should only be performed with complete confidence and fullness by the plastic surgeon with solid knowledge in reconstructive surgery. However, there are many questions – and many myths – around aesthetic surgery. For example: What precautions should be taken when selecting a plastic surgeon and what to expect from the first appointment? Does aesthetic surgery leave scars? Is aesthetic surgery dangerous? Is aesthetic surgery painful? Is prolonged hospitalization necessary? When do the first results appear and how long do they last? What care to take in rehabilitation after aesthetic surgery and how important is it? Luís Azevedo , a specialist in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of Hospital da Luz Guimarães will answer these and other questions about the ‘world’ of Aesthetic Surgery during this workshop. Access is free, but interested parties are requested to make a previous registration. We look forward to your presence!
