Children are much more vulnerable than adults to sun exposure , therefore it is imperative to adopt special care, particularly in the spring and summer time, when trips to the park, beach and pool are more frequent. In this sense, a team from Hospital da Luz Arrábida will offer, on June 13, a workshop on care to take concerning the sun, destined to parents with children up to 10 years old . All those interested in attending must register previously, for seats are limited. This session will be conducted by paediatrician Sandra Rocha and nurses Verónica Santos (paediatrics coordinating nurse) and Rita Caldevilla (nurse specialized in child and paediatric health). These are some of the topics to approach: The skin, sun protection and general care; Special care (for instance in atopic skin); How to choose a sun screen; The importance of sun glasses; Precautions when travelling; Accident prevention and what to do in case of sun burn.
